Jaeger is a mini/tweenie young adult male. He was discovered when his elderly human had passed away; it is unclear how long he was left alone. Jaeger is a very handsome young man. He is currently being fostered in a home with a corgi mix and 3 other dachshunds. He gets along well with the pack and would do well with other dogs. He is very shy, sweet natured, wants to please. He is very scared if you reach for him in a crate; he cowers to the back. When you leave the house, he does not cry, scream, or get upset. He is a good car rider.
He needs a patient owner who does not mind that he needs some extra patience, time, and love to overcome the traumatic events of his life. He needs help learning to walk on a leash and with potty training, as it appears this is new to him. He does well on puppy pads. Please consider making Jaeger a part of your family and fill out an adoption application today!

Jaeger was found at shelter due to owner's death. Unclear on how long he was left alone after death. Very traumatized when picked up at shelter. Jaeger can be animal and human aggressive over toys and food. Snaps at people in scrubs/vet. He is not leash trained and is still having problems staying on a leash for very long. Tends to try to sneak out the door when it's opened; will take off.
Jaeger has to wear a belly band to prevent marking in house. He pees in his belly band 2-4x a day, despite being put out every 2 hours. He does not poop outside, no matter how long you keep him out or watching others poop outside. Has never pooped outside in last 2 weeks.
Upon rescue, he did not have much an appetite, first week he only ate once a day; now eats twice a day. Has to be corrected during meals so he does not steal others food or get into fights with others. He weighed 7.7 lbs at rescue; currently weighs 8.8 lbs.
When meeting new people, he barks and has a tendency to snap.
