How to contact my foster home: Thomas -- Loris, SC 29569 -- shelbyguy@sccoast.net

Hi, I am Rhett.  They tell me I’m a piebald dachshund.  I think piebald means ‘very handsome’ in human.  A few weeks ago some real nice humans rescued me and a whole lot of my brothers and sisters from a place in AL where it was our job to make puppies. We didn’t like it there because it got very cold and we couldn’t run and play together. I am really enjoying getting to know my new foster family and would you believe I have 6 other dachshunds and another foster dachshund to play with all the time!!!  When I got here I was really scared, especially when my new humans came toward me, now it’s no big deal and I love to sit and snuggle with them and our new siblings. We have a big back yard to run and play in, and today Dad said he was going to take me ‘for a walk’.  He put this thing he called a harness on me and attached a ‘leash’.  Leashes don’t taste so good and I really didn’t like that harness thing. I’d much rather just run free in that big back yard but Dad says we’re going to try the walk thing again. I really like being inside with my humans.  I’ve been trying real hard not to potty in the house, but sometimes I just forget.  I’m still working on that and I usually remember only to go potty outside.   Mom and Dad say I’m pretty quiet but when my brothers and sisters decide to sing, it’s fun to join in.  I do like having other four leggers here, but it would be ok if I was the only one getting all the love and attention.  When the nice people from Little Paws rescued me they sent me to a nice doctor to check me out.  They gave me some shots and neutered me...that wasn’t fun...and said I am pretty healthy.  They took some pictures of my bones and said I might have a little arthritis in my hip.  I don’t know what arthritis is but it doesn’t stop me from running around in the back yard and doing all the things that I like to do.  They gave me some medicine that they call glucosamine to take every day.  I thought medicine was supposed to taste yucky, but my medicine tastes great and I eat it with my dinner every night.  I must say that my life has really changed a lot during the past month.  I really like living inside and spending time with these humans.  It’s been fun staying with Mom and Dad but I’d really like to find a family I could live with forever.   I have a lot of extra love to give, would you like to have it?  If you have any questions about me you can ask my Dad. Just send him an email. Thank you.
