Adoption Fee:   $250.00 + $35.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law). Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by the state departments of agriculture. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and all dogs adopted in New England states are subject to an additional $125 fee to help cover a portion of these expenses.

Hello my name is Trooper. I'm a 7 year old Red Smooth male. But I'm not just ANY Red Male, I'm special! I was first adopted from a shelter many years ago and I don't remember what happened, but I am missing a toe. But that's what makes me very special. How many dogs can say they are missing a toe? Well I really don't miss my toe. I definitely don't let it affect me when playing with my rope toys and balls. I LOVE balls and rope toys!!! So much so, that I growl excitedly when playing with them.

I also love to sunbathe. It feels good on my bones. I am very relaxed until you bring out my leash then you and I must walk!! Since I prefer to have all the bellyrubs to myself, I would really like to be an only dog or just one other older doggie brother or sister. I don't mind cats at all.

UPDATE:  I am OK with children if they don't want to play with me.  I like to just lay and share a blanket and be petted, and sometimes I just don't feel like playing... So I don't!
I would like a home with an older adult since I am well trained and like to play with a rope or chew toy, but only when I feel like it and not for long periods of time.  I love to sit close on the couch and sleep in the big human bed, but I also like to lay on my own, snuggled with a blanket.

Do you have room in your life for a very special Red Male like me?
