Adoption Fee:   $150.00 + $35.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law). Dogs adopted in MA, NH, and ME are subject to a mandatory quarantine period as per state laws. This will be an extra fee ($125.00) in addition to the regular adoption fee.  

This is the sweetest little 8 year old miniature dachsie boy.  He weighs 10 pounds. He is somewhat visually challenged, but adapts very quickly and doesn't slow him down at all. He was diagnosed with Sclerotic lenses. He is quite capable of seeing you and giving you lots of snuggles and begging for his treats. He sits up on his back legs and it just melts your heart. In our home he has to pass through numerous fences, gates, doggie door and stair ramp, but he is so clever he figured them out in just a few hours. He enjoys a walk on the leash and sometimes needs your verbal guidance with curbs and steps if it's unfamiliar territory. He is playful, enjoying the other dogs in the house or toys. As any Dachsie, he loves special attention and snuggling close in the big bed or on the couch.  He especially loves the man in the house here, snuggling up around his chest and burrowing his head in his neck. He gets around in unfamiliar areas easily with conversation from his master or following other dogs. He determines where his fellow mates are with bells or tags on their collars. He would do well in a home with other dogs or a master that is home most of the day to spend time with him. He enjoys meal and snack time immensely. If you have other pups, he just needs a little guidance to his food and learns where his spot is quickly.  Petey is nearly done with his heart worm treatment. Just two more weeks. He will then only require monthly doses of Heart Guard for a year prior to re-testing for a negative Heart Worm read. LPDR will take care of the treatments and re-test. If you see a furbaby that would be a match for your family, please don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption.  LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport.
