Jake is a doll! He loves everyone. He loves all the people we meet. He loves men, women, dogs, cats. I don’t have small children but he was very happy to meet my neighbor’s children. My cats are very dog savvy and will quickly put a dog in its place-Jake has never even approached them. He watches the cats but seems to know to not pester them.

Jake would love a fenced yard but he would do fine with daily exercise if he is walked frequently. He does love to run and play but he also loves to sit with his people and fall asleep on their laps. He give tons of kisses and follows me around the house to keep an eye on where I am and what I am doing.

I haven’t had time to try to teach him tricks but I think he would be a quick learner. He is motivated by praise and has the energy to fetch, jump, and tug.

I have several other dogs and Jake came in my house and made friends with every one of them almost immediately. I even have a grumpy dachshund who really doesn’t like other dogs much and Jake won him over immediately.

Jake is fun and lovable! You can’t go wrong here.

Adoption Fee: $275+ $35.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law). Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by the state departments of agriculture. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and all dogs adopted in New England states are subject to an additional $125 fee to help cover a portion of these expenses. RI RESIDENTS – At this time we are not registered with this state and are unable to adopt to residents. The process to register is lengthy and will take some time. We are currently working on this process TRANSPORTATION HELP! If you see a furbaby that would be a match for your family, please don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport.
