This guy is a GEM. He is house trained and mellow as can be. He does like to play fetch and toss around the toys. The more comfortable he becomes in his foster home, the more he jumps around getting excited about things like dinner time, his foster parents coming home, and being encouraged to play. He does bark at things he is unfamiliar with and will do better in a home with older children. He does really well with other dogs for the most part. If he is feeling insecure he will turn as if to bite. Cats intrigue him a little, but they can outrun him if need be while he gets used to them. He likes going for walks and does really well on the leash. One knows he is peeing by his tail being raised straight up while he gazes off into the distance. This guy just wants love and attention. He likes being on the couch with his foster family, curled up against or on them. He also enjoys his quiet time, settled down, hanging out with people. The floor is fine with him as well as long as he is near his people. His foster parents both work out of the house for at least 8 hours of the day and he does just fine home alone. For sleeping, he has a blanket on the floor beside the bed and does really well with that, but he would probably love sleeping in the big bed too!  He will need to be carried up and down staircases.  He is currently on a weight loss plan as he is about 8-10 poumds overweight. Don't miss out on adopting this beautiful long haired handsome boy!

Adoption Fee:  $275.00 + $35.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law).  Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by the state departments of agriculture. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and all dogs adopted in New England states are subject to an additional $125 fee to help cover a portion of these expenses.

RI RESIDENTS – At this time we are not registered with this state and are unable to adopt to residents.  The process to register is lengthy and will take some time.  We are currently working on this process

TRANSPORTATION HELP! If you see a furbaby that would be a match for your family, please don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption.  LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport.
