Hank is a 2 year old, 12 pound bundle of joy that loves to play, snuggle and love.... lots of love.
When it comes time to eat, Hank is doing great with his manners. He is fed with his own bowl at the same time as his 7 foster siblings and waits until his bowl is put down, most of the time. If he gets a little eager, I just say NO, and he waits till his name is called for his bowl. He takes his time and doesn't gobble too quickly. And has never tried to steal from the others! (He gets breakfast and dinner) And he enjoys little snacks in between when he does good things. He takes the treats very gently from my fingertips.
He came to us from a shelter, so we do not know much about his past. He immediately fell in love with his foster mom, but was VERY nervous when he met his foster dad. He has never tried to bite at or attack his foster dad, he's just very quick to hide behind foster moms feet. If sitting on the sofa (with mom of course), and dad walks in the room, he does a little soft growl.... almost like a purr. It took his foster dad a good 5 days of just constantly playing with the others around him and trying to love on him, and giving him treats (from a distance) before Hank would accept pets from him. In the mornings when mom is still asleep, he is ok with dad taking him out of crate, taking him outside and with feeding him, but as soon as mom walks in the room, he instantly stays with her. (As a side note, we noticed that when the man was in jeans with boots and a hat on, Hank was more nervous. As soon as he put on lounging pants, he became more comfortable)
Hank doesn't bark too much. The times he has barked has been joining in with his foster siblings!
Hank sleeps in his crate at night. After his last potty time and a little lovin, he goes right in and lays down with no fuss. He will bark to wake you if he wakes up and needs to go potty again, but is eager to go back to sleep when done.
Hank would be a perfect woman's man, and will work great with a couple that understands the daddy needs to be a little more patient with him. Once he does trust you, you will have all the love that he has to offer!!!
If you see a furbaby that would be a match for your family, please don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport
