Hi everyone out there looking for a couple great dogs to adopt.

Onyx and I are just checking in with an update since our last post.

We have been with our foster mom for about 4 months now and still nothing has gotten broken.  We are not naughty at all.   We are very well behaved, listen when spoken to and always try to please.

We hang out together a lot but also enjoy the company of the other dogs in the house.  And guess what???  We discovered the big bed.  It’s awesome.  I can jump right up but Onyx has to use the stairs to get up and he loves it.  We snuggle real close to “mommy” at night for sleeping.  We are sure to be the first two on the bed so we get a good spot right next to her.  Then we don’t make a peep.  She doesn’t even know we are there we are so quiet.

We think we are ready for some kids in our lives too.  Not real little ones though only because they always have food in their hands and we still love to eat but older kids would be great, especially if they love us and treat us nicely.  We are doing real well at sitting, waiting and taking treats “easy”.  Mom is so proud of us.  Especially Onyx cause he was way worse than me.   And we are fed out of slow feeder bowls to help us slow down with our meals.  They are actually fun to use.  It’s a challenge we enjoy.  Onyx doesn’t have his door closed anymore while eating in his crate but he still loves the privacy so he runs in there for meals.

We both still like to go for walks.  Mom says Onyx is “Fast and Furious” to my “Driving Miss Daisy” but I go along because everyone else is.   If he would just slow down a little I would be happier but what can I do.  Brothers!!!!

We don’t get crated anymore but they are still set up and we go in them all the time to relax and take naps.    We love the dog door.  The freedom we have now is great and it keeps us busy during the day.  No squirrels in this yard.  We do our job with pride.

We have learned to chew on Nyla bones and think they are the best.  Me more than Onyx but we are sharing well with others.  We kind of have to with all the other dogs here and they are our friends now and we have learned friends are wonderful.

And one final thing that is a big deal I guess, we are getting use to the cat.  Mom thinks we would be okay with a very dog savvy cat that doesn’t run from us.  Her cat just whacks us when we get too close and we both back off but we are not aggressive.  I think she would hurt us if mom wasn’t there.    She is kind of big and scary.

That’s all the news for now.  We would love to meet you and show you how awesome we are.  Please consider us when looking for a couple great dogs.

Adoption Fee:  $400.00 (for both Onyx & Sable) + $45.00 for a health certificate (for each dog) if going over state lines (required by law).  Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by the state departments of agriculture. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and all dogs adopted in New England states are subject to an additional $135 fee to help cover a portion of these expenses.

Transportation Help

If you see a furbaby that is a match for your family, don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport.
