Overview
Looking for a loyal companion who will be your devoted shadow? Albert the red and white dachshund might be the perfect addition to your family.
Albert is a handsome 13-year-old gentleman weighing 24 lbs who knows how to be the perfect companion. He came to Little Paws when his previous owner could no longer care for him, and now he’s ready to share his golden years with a loving family. This distinguished fellow has so much love left to give and would thrive with someone who appreciates a mature, well-mannered dog.
Environment
Albert enjoys moderate exercise with walks and playtime, but he’s equally content relaxing by your side. He’s completely house-trained and does well in a fenced yard where he can explore safely. Albert loves car rides and is great on walks with his leash. He’s quiet and respectful, making him suitable for homes with shared walls. When left alone, Albert is very content and well-behaved—he simply waits patiently for your return.
Pets & People
Albert is friendly with everyone he meets, greeting both familiar faces and strangers with a wagging tail. He gets along well with other dogs but can be a bit possessive over his favorite toys, so supervision during playtime is recommended. He would also do wonderfully as an only dog where he can have all your attention to himself. Albert does not get along with cats, so a feline-free home would be best for everyone.
Health
Albert has Cushing’s disease, which is well-managed with once-daily medication. This is a common condition in senior dogs, and Albert takes his medicine like a champ! With proper care, dogs with Cushing’s can live happy, comfortable lives.
Location
Albert is available for adoption from Charlotte, NC and loves car rides, so he’s ready to travel to meet his new family. Please email luv2ryde88@yahoo.com with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above. The adoption fee for Albert is $150.
