Hi, my name is Rico and I am a very handsome black and tan, long haired dachshund.  I love to go for walks although I’m a very strong boy for my 14 pounds so you’ll have to hold onto the leash very tight!  I also love toys.  My foster Mom says I love them too much because if I see one I like, I’ll just take it even if another pup is playing with it.  I get along with the new people I’ve met although I like to check them out first.  I am nervous around other dogs since I was attacked by a large dog when I was a puppy.  I get along ok with my foster siblings (except when I want one of their toys) but I am very frightened by large dogs so I need to avoid them.  I enjoy snoozing, sitting next to my foster mom while watching TV, sleeping in the big bed at night.

Adoption Fee:  $250.00 + $45.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law).  Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by the state departments of agriculture. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and all dogs adopted in New England states are subject to an additional $135 fee to help cover a portion of these expenses.

If you see a furbaby that is a match for your family, don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport.
