Hi, my name is Hope! I am a blind and deaf double dapple dachshund…but don’t tell me I have a disability - I can’t hear you!! I am just a typical doxie and I LOVE to sleep in bed and burrow under blankets. I love to run around the yard and dig holes and bark. I love to carry around a squeaky ball and play with the other dogs in my foster home. I love tummy rubs. I HAVE a very sweet, loving disposition once I feel safe and comfortable with my new people and surroundings. I GET ALONG WITH people and other animals (both cats and dogs) I am shy at first but very loving. I WOULD RATHER NOT be picked up or share my food. I would rather not live in an active home or with children. Too much commotion really scares me. I NEED mind stimulation toys since I cannot see to help keep me busy during the day - I get bored easily. I need a fenced in yard since I cannot see to walk on a leash and a doxie brother or sister would be great to pal around with and help guide me. I need consistency in my forever home and my bed, food and water bowls to always stay in the same place so I know where to find them. Please don’t move the furniture either, I map everything in my head.
::Hope will not be available for adoption in New England, due to the long travel and regulations.
***Hope needs to have her eye sockets cleaned regularly.
Fill out an adoption application http://littlepawsdachshundrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form_humanverify?formid=2724 Adoption Fee: $150.00 + $45.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law). Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and all dogs adopted in New England states are subject to an additional $150 fee to help cover a portion of these expenses. TRANSPORTATION HELP! If you see a furbaby that would be a match for your family, please don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport.
