Roux is a seven year old, soft and snuggly girl, weighing in at 15lbs. She was given up for rehoming as her previous owners were relocating overseas, and she’s looking for a new lap to lay on ASAP. Roux is very sweet and loves to be with her human(s) as much as possible. She is a very big love bug and everyone who pets her compliments her on having the softest fur.

Environment

Roux is house trained but not crate trained. She will bark or alert you if she needs to go out. She’s been allowed free reign in her foster home and has had no problems, despite some separation anxiety (understandable given her circumstances). If her new home has stairs, they should be gated for safety. She cannot be trusted around anything tasty as she’s shown a lot of interest in plates, food, or anything that smells good in her vicinity.

Roux loves to play catch with small toys and we’d class her as medium activity level. She loves to play, but also to lay and cuddle. When outside of the house she walks well on a leash without pulling. She initially barks at humans upon meeting but quickly adjusts and will sniff/greet them if approached appropriately. She doesn't seem to wander far away from her human(s) but we aren’t sure if she would chase something that caught her eye so a fence is safest when not on a leash. As she loves her humans, we think she would do best in a home where someone is around more. She barks at deliveries, outside noise, and from separation anxiety so a home without shared walls will be best for Roux.

People & Pets

Roux is very sweet but a little cautious. She needs gentle introductions to both people and dogs. She is untested with children, fine with both men and women but seems to prefer women. She can be a bit wary of overzealous dogs and will growl to warn them away, but she does just fine if they respect her personal space. Around food she can be protective. She growls if other dogs approach her when eating.

Location

Roux is available for adoption from Attleboro, MA. She’s a great traveler and enjoys a snooze in the car so she’s looking forward to waking up at her new home.

Please email her foster trish.fregeau@gmail.com with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above. The adoption fee for Roux is $275.
