Scooby is a six-year-old long-haired dachshund who weighs in at 11 lbs. He was surrendered after an incident with a child. He’s a skittish guy who has a lot of fear around children, so we’re looking for a home without any exposure to them. Scooby is very loving and protective with his (adult) humans, and he deserves someone to reciprocate that and give him the home he needs.
Environment
Scooby is house trained, and crate trained, barely barks or sheds, and loves to cuddle. Aside from a child-free environment he really doesn’t ask much from his new home — shared walls are fine, he won’t require a fenced yard, he doesn’t dig or chase critters. Although he doesn’t require someone who works from home, he would be happier with a lot of company.
Pets & People
Scooby is ambivalent towards other dogs, and at first a little nervous. Whether with people or pets, he is fearful upon meeting them, so a very busy home might cause him unnecessary anxiety, but he does warm up. Obviously, no children. He has a lot of love to give to his adult humans, and he does know some commands.
Health
Scooby currently takes a joint supplement and some anxiety medication but given a peaceful new home he may not need the anxiety meds.
Location
Scooby is available for adoption from Baltimore, MD and looking forward to meeting his new favorite people. Please email erikamurraay94@yahoo.com with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above. The adoption fee for Scooby is $275.
