Thumper is a 6 year old dachshund mix. He is a sweet, unique looking little boy who loves people and spending time outside. He was found as a stray and taken to the local animal shelter where we stepped in to save his life. He was very frightened and skittish at first but has come around to his foster family and loves spending time with them. He loves to cuddle on the couch in the afternoons and sleep in the big bed. Thumper is housetrained and crate trained but can be trusted to be left in the house. He never chews or plays with things that aren’t his toys and bones. Thumper loves to go on walks and will march forward at the end of the leash, ready to sniff things out and see what’s going on. Thumper also can sit up on his rear end and dance around to beg for treats and his dinner. He jumps very high and can get on most beds and couches. Thumper loves his foster brother and most other dogs and would do best with a buddy in the house. He seeks out comfort from more experienced dogs when he is afraid or unsure of things. Thumper has a very high prey drive and would not do well in a home with small rodents or cats. Any fence he is contained in will have to be very well inspected and tight from gaps as he is a slender fellow and will slip through in pursuit of rabbits and other wildlife. Thumper is a great boy and is so easy to fall in love with. If you are looking for a sweet and loving boy who is playful and fun like a puppy but well behaved like an older dog then Thumper is the guy for you.
