Wally is a tender spirit looking for a forever home where he can love and be loved. Wally was found as a stray in an active parking lot on a very busy, city street. Scary stuff for a little dachshund and sadly no one came forward to claim lovely Wally. Being the positive, forward thinker that he is, Wally sees this as an opportunity for him to find the best possible forever home for himself while offering loving companionship. Wally enjoys easy walks, lying in the sun, playing in the grass in the yard, chasing after tossed squeaky toys and especially sitting on the sofa resting quietly. In his foster home, Wally enjoys spending the day quietly observing all the neighborhood activity from the arm of the sofa. Wally would be great as an only dog or possibly sharing a home with a quiet, respectful four legged companion. Wally is pretty mellow so if you are looking for a low key lap dog to add to your quiet setting look no further. Wally is not great with strangers and is rather shy at first but will warm up quite quickly once you show you are trustworthy. He will shower you with affection and happy faces once you are acquainted and what a face it is. Wally is a gorgeous, silky soft red with black overlay longhair gentleman. He loves to be brushed and willingly let his foster mom bathe him on day 3 without hesitation or issue. Wally wears his emotions on his face and you can quickly tell where he is at by looking at him. He knows a few basic commands and is eager to please. They estimate Wally to be about 4.5 years old and currently weighs about 15 pounds but could stand to trim down a pound or two.  He loves jerky treats and small squeaky toys. He appears to be crate trained and all it takes is for his foster mom to call his name and tap the top of his crate and he puts himself in there willingly. He is housetrained. He is neutered, micro chipped, and UTD on his shots. Wally has not yet been tested with children but that will happen soon. Check back for more info on Wally or go ahead and ask Wally’s Foster Mom, Jenn for more information or any specific questions you have. Wally does not currently live with cats but was not reactive to them when tested at the shelter. Wally’s currently located in Western, MA and his Adoption fee is $400.
