Adoption Fee:   $275 + $35.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law). Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by the state departments of agriculture. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and all dogs adopted in New England states are subject to an additional $125 fee to help cover a portion of these expenses.  Dogs that are HW positive cannot be adopted in Massachusetts

Paisley is a well behaved sweet and happy girl.  You may find her sleeping in the big bed with you during the night or asleep on a blanket on the couch.  She definitely likes being in your lap, but is also content laying beside you or on the floor near you.

She makes us laugh with her antics.  Just tonight, she started just running around the coffee table like she was chasing something but there was nothing there (not that the human eye could see anyway.)  She did this about 10 times and then just stopped.

We have a cat that thinks he is a dog and he L O V E S to torture the dogs if they will follow suit.  He gets them to chase him and most just won’t do it, but Paisley falls for it every time. Then she doesn’t understand if SHE wants to play and Jackson the cat, is not in the mood, why he looks at her like she is crazy and then swats her.

She has been great with my grandchildren that range in age from 23 months to 13 years of age.  (5 of them)  She loves to play so it would be great if she were with someone that liked to play ball, play tug with rope, and have time to teach her other games to play.

She is “vocal” if someone rings the doorbell or if she is outside and is ready to come in.  She will not stop until you let her in.  We are trying to train her to not bark at the door to get in by using a water bottle and spraying her because many times she steps outside goes nowhere and wants to come back in before going potty.

RI Residents At this time we are not registered with this state and are unable to adopt to residents.  The process to register is lengthy and will take some time.  We are currently working on this process.

TRANSPORTATION HELP!

If you see a furbaby that would be a match for your family, please don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport.
