Adoption Fee:  $275.00 + $35.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law).  Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by the state departments of agriculture. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and all dogs adopted in New England states are subject to an additional $125 fee to help cover a portion of these expenses.

***SAVANNAH IS BEING FOSTERED IN NEW ENGLAND AND NEEDS TO BE ADOPTED IN NEW ENGLAND ONLY***

My name is Savannah, and I am a very charming little Southern lady!  I am a very well-mannered peanut, weighing in at just 8 pounds! Given my size, energy level, and temperament, I would do just fine in a house or apartment. I love humans very much, even the short kind they call “children”, although I would do best with a child of my own over eight-years-old in your “human years”. My favorite thing in the whole world is a warm lap to snuggle on. I am already potty trained!  Also, I am very smart and would love to do some training with you to learn cool tricks, like “sit” and “stay” and “roll over.” I don’t bark much, but my foster Mom says I sound like a Great Dane instead of a little mini Dachshund when I do. Also, I tolerate it just fine when my foster mom insists on putting me into a coat to go outside in this New England weather (and I love to eat snow).  I was an only dog in my old home, and am learning how to be around other dogs. I’d be a terrific only dog or a sweet new addition to a fur family, if we take it slow. Although I still like my space, I think I’ll be just fine in the pack pretty soon.  I hope I’m the right dog for you (and you’re the right human for me)!

Please contact my foster if you want more information, thanks so much for reading my bio.

Love, Savannah

RI  residents: At this time we are not registered with these states and are unable to adopt to residents.  The process to register is lengthy and will take some time. We are currently working on this process.

TRANSPORTATION HELP!

If you see a furbaby that would be a match for your family, please don’t let distance stand in the way of your adoption. LPDR can work with you to have a volunteer transport to assist with transportation or refer you to a paid transport.
