Amore is a beautiful dachshund-corgi mix who is estimated to be 3-4 years old and is fostered in Massachusetts. She is definitely very fond of her foster mom in particular but likes her foster dad as well, but is definitely nervous around children and so a home with children over the age of 13 is ideal for this sweet girl. A home with a lower activity level would be perfect for her, as lots of hubbub and noise makes her nervous.
She would be OK around another calm dog. She has small bursts of energy where she loves to run around the yard and play, but then she is ready to come back inside and sit on a warm lap. She loves to chew on bones too!
She is working on her housetraining and will likely be a work in progress for a while. She came from a hoarding situation and was not allowed to go out to potty on a regular basis, so she is still learning that going in the house is not OK. Keeping her on a regular schedule will help with this a lot, however, her foster family is still having problems at night as she will get out of their bed and to to her favorite spot to pee. They are working with her on this. She does well in a crate.
She will make a lovely addition to someone's home for the new year, could it be yours?
Adoption Fee: $275.00 + $35.00 for a health certificate if going over state lines (required by law). Dogs adopted in New England are subject to additional rules and regulations by the state departments of agriculture. Complying with these regulations is expensive for our rescue, and all dogs adopted in New England states are subject to an additional $125 fee to help cover a portion of these expenses.
